With a community of more than 200 members in the Ugandan rain forest Ngogo chimpanzees are supposed to be the most brutal troupe in the world, often lead to violent attacks on the neighboring tribesto expand their territory.
A new documentary of Discovery provided a captivating glimpse of the lives of these "warrior monkeys", follows the band for 23 years toreveal their humanoid complexity as chimpanzees Hunt, fight and support.

Even 20 years ago, their number was "much more than the larger community, already known anywhere" David Watts, Co-Director of thechimpanzee Ngogo project, explains in the video.
While it was once thought that chimpanzees can only resort to hunting when they are hungry - if there is not enough fruit autour - observations revealed that the truth is exactly "the opposite."

And when Ellington died, researchers observed changes in Hare, whosuggested that there was"depressed," as it has ceased to be one of the most social members of the Group and can often be seen "searching for his longtime friend.
THE NGOGO CHIMPS
Chimpanzees at Ngogo National Park of Kibale in Uganda are the largest community of chimpanzees known.In 1996, researchers have estimated the population at about 142 members.
Now, the Group has grown to 204 and much increased their territory.
"In 10 years they had killed so many members of this community of neighbor that they had reduced strength coalitionary of this neighboring group to a point where our chimpanzees could simply move", oneof the researchers explained in the documentary.
